Monthly Digest — what changed in the latest month
When a new SkillSelect month is published, the first useful question is simply what moved. Monthly Digest answers it: the occupations whose pools grew or shrank most, where invited counts jumped, and which occupations showed activity for the first time in a while.
What this view measures
The digest compares the newest published month with the one before it, for the visa and status you have selected, and ranks occupations by how far they moved. Rises and falls are listed separately so a busy month does not bury one under the other.
Reading the chart
Start with the direction, then check the absolute size. A pool that went from 40 to 80 doubled, but 40 extra forms is a smaller event than 300 leaving a pool of 6,000 — percentage movers and volume movers answer different questions.
An invitation spike means the invited count in the snapshot rose sharply. It does not tell you the score invitations went out at, or how many rounds were involved.
What the figure represents
One month is one data point. A single large move can be a genuine shift, a batch of expiries, or a revision to the previous month’s table — the digest cannot separate those, and neither can any other view.
In the dashboard
Use the digest as a starting point, not a conclusion: click through from a mover into Occupation Trends and look at whether the move is part of a trend or a one-month spike.

For applicants
Checking the digest once a month is enough. It updates only when SkillSelect publishes, so nothing changes in between, and refreshing more often just costs you sleep.
Your occupation not appearing is normal and usually good news: it means nothing moved far enough to rank.
For migration professionals
This is the monthly client-update view. Take the two or three movers relevant to your book, verify each in Occupation Trends, and send those rather than the whole list.
Limits of this view
It cannot say why anything moved, cannot see invitation rounds, and ranks only what the published tables contain — an occupation whose detail is suppressed under 20 can move without appearing here at all.
Common questions
How often does the digest update?
Only when a new SkillSelect month is published, which is roughly monthly. Between releases the figures do not change.
My occupation is not in the list. Is that bad?
No. The list only ranks the largest movers, so a stable pool simply does not qualify.
