Occupations sit in families, and neighbouring codes can have very different pool sizes. This view takes the occupation you selected and shows its relatives with lighter pools, so you know which codes are worth asking an assessor about.
What this view measures
You pick one occupation; the view finds other codes in the same broad ANZSCO group and ranks those with smaller submitted pools on your selected subclass, with your own occupation shown for reference.
Reading the chart
Read the gap, not the rank. A neighbour with 15% fewer EOIs is within noise; one with a pool a fifth the size is a different situation worth a conversation.
What the figure represents
A lighter pool means fewer forms competing under that code today. It says nothing about whether that code is on a current list, what assessment it needs, or whether your experience fits it.

For applicants
Treat every row as a question for a registered migration agent or an assessing authority: could I be assessed under this code at all? If the answer is no, the pool size is irrelevant.
For migration professionals
Useful for widening a shortlist before assessment, and dangerous if presented as strategy. Pair each candidate code with its assessment pathway in the same breath.
Limits of this view
It does not know occupation lists, assessment criteria, state nomination rules or your work history. It also cannot see codes outside the selected occupation’s family.
Common questions
Should I switch to the occupation with the smallest pool?
Only if you can legitimately be assessed under it. Pool size is the last consideration, not the first, and this view has no view of your eligibility.
